Love cats? - try exploring the backstreets in Macau

The Macanese love their cats and obviously a lot of the cats in Macau are very happy - pampered and friendly, quite happy to be made a fuss of.

Most cats can be found in the back streets in the less well-off areas of Macau, where the locals live.

This cat was happily sleeping outside on a rug that had been put there especially for him. He took a moment to glance up at us, to see what I was doing (taking a photo) but quickly nodded back off.

We found this cat enjoying prime position in hos owners fruit and veg stall.

One cat I saw in a cafe was happily fast asleep, but his owner saw that I was looking at him Suddenly the owner stopped what he was doing, went to the cat and woke him up, to introduce me and get me to take his photo!

I found that the owners of the cats were always pleased to introduce me to their cats and loved it if I asked whether I could take a photo. The owners also saw it as very important for me to know the name of every cat I met.
