Casinos in Macau

The Casinos are Macau's Top Attraction for Tourists

Most visitors to Macau are heading there for the casinos. A vast majority of those are looking to play casino games, but others are looking for that luxury resort break they provide. Or both.

Something that not all visitors appreciate about the casinos, until they arrive, is that they offer a fantastic variety of things to do, see and experience that are not limited to casino gaming and luxury swimming pools.

All of the casinos in Macau that I visited have great food. Incredible food. Plus, the food is surprisingly good value.

It's a great opportunity to experience the wonders of not only Chinese cuisine, but also pan-asian in general. Macau gets a lot of visitors from other countries and their national dishes are catered for very well.

Macau casinos also provide a huge amount of shopping. If high-end designer gear is your thing, then you will love Macau. Probably the best example is The Venetian, but The City of Dreams is also noteworthy, as is the shopping mall attached to the MGM.

You will also find plenty of treasures to discover. Real treasures, that is - ancient artifacts, golden statues that must be priceless, gems and jewely and art work that you would only normally see in the best of museums.

Your want more? You got it. There is also plenty of entertainment (although this is one aspect where Macau is not a patch on Vegas). Some of the entertainment is free. There was a lot of performance art and music in both the MGM and The Ventian when I was there. Breakdancing, dancers, musicians - a lot of it very high quality and appreciated by the crowds.

There are also some decent attractions, like in the MGM where the Dragon of Fortune and Tree of Prosperity are well worth a look. The water fountain at the Wynn is impressive and so many more things to suit all tastes.

Basically, there is something interesting going on everywhere in the caisnos and for everyone - seek and you shall find, as they say.

The other thing I really enjoyed in Macau's casinos was people watching. People here are fascinating to watch. I especially enjoyed the couples dressed in his and hers matching outfits. I had seen a couple of pictures before, but presumed they were fake pics - they weren't this really does happen and some of the outfits are outrageous and hilarious!
